The 15 Series, Thomas' 1.5 ton model featurs reliable Mitsubishi diesel power. The liquid cooled, 3 cylinder engine puts out a hard working 17 horsepower (12.5 kw).

With Thomas you get more reach, dump height and more digging depth. The 15 comes standard with a long dipper arm that provides you a full 7 ft. 9.3 inch (2370 mm) digging depth.

You don’t have to sacrifice breakout force in order to dig deep. The 15 boasts a mighty 3236 lbs. (1468 kg.) of bucket breakout force, enough to muscle its way through the toughest digging conditions.

Desgined for confined areas the 15 gives you breathing space no matter how tight the work area. Available in two models, you can choose the 15 S with its slim 40.2 inch (1020 mm) width or the variable track width model 15 V which stretches out to a full 51.2 inches (1300 mm) width for added stability. For increased flotation when going gets soft the 15 Series light 3219 lb. (1460 Kg.) operating weight combined with its long track length of 44.5 inches (1130 mm) between the idler sprocket centers provides you with low ground pressure and flat footed stable performance.

For your convenience or for multiple operator applications, the 15 Series can be equipped with a control pattern selector valve. This allows you to change in seconds the excavators controls to the pattern you feel most comfortable with, either ISO or SAE.

The 15 features precise, light operating, hydraulic pilot operated joysticks with fully adjustable arm rests for total operator comfort and complete control. For operator convenience the excavator features a walk through design and for added protection the left hand control lever council swings up and engages a safety locking system which prevents unintentional operation of the joysticks.

When excavating along a wall the boom can be pivoted independent of the excavator housing . Operated by a foot pedal, the boom can be swung 80° left and 50° to the right. This feature allows you to dig in a straight line along a wall or dig a square hole without the need to reposition the excavator.

To ensure cool running in all weather conditions the 15 Series is equipped with a high volume 6.3 gal. (24 L.) hydraulic reservoir and a high capacity oil cooler. This combined with a special return valve which ports hydraulic oil directly back to tank when operating attachments, such as hydraulic breakers, helps keep your hydraulic circuit cool and the excavator productive all day long.

Compact in size but big on total service accessibility. Open unobstructed space is what you find when you flip up the rear engine cover . For vandal protection the engine compartment door automatically locks when you close it. For ease of service the 15 is even equipped with a centralized lubrication system which makes swing frame lubrication a breeze.

The 15 comes fully equipped and ready for work with few, if any, add on options required . Half pitch rubber tracks for smooth ride, horn, work lights, a 8.3 gpm (31.4 L) auxiliary hydraulic system with boom mounted breaker piping, ROPS/FOPS 4 post canopy and toothed bucket are all standard equipment on the Thomas 15 Series.
